Christmas Time!

Last week I got to go to Greenewood Manor to take some photos of their annual holiday party. I was really excited about this for two reasons 1) I got to take pictures of families who were truly appreciative and really excited about their photos and 2) I got to hang out with my older sister Amy for nearly an entire day because she was the organizer of the party! I had a blast and I was very happy with how most of the photos turned out. The dining room looked beautiful and it seemed like everyone had a great time getting ready for the upcoming holidays. I hope the families had a fun evening and love their pictures as well. Here are a few of my favorites from the evening:

Winter = Slow Season

Since it is getting colder outside and my photography business is going to be a little slow for the next few weeks, I thought I would take this opurtunity to promote my beautiful sister Julie's new non-profit organization, Cradled or Carried. My sister was diagnosed with brain cancer this past summer and she has started this organization to help other cancer patients find support and to raise funds for the National Cancer Society. Make sure to visit her site and read her story. While you're there, why not make a donation or buy one of her handmade bracelets to support the cause?

One of my favorite photos of my sister Julie and her son Zachary. This photo was taken a couple weeks after Julie had emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor last summer. I spent a morning taking photos of her and her three beautiful children and this is one of the images that will always have a special place in my heart.

Merit Clothiers

I am currently editing some photos from a promotional product shoot for Merit Clothiers, an independent and eco-friendly clothing company that offers messenger bags, jackets, and iron-on badges to celebrate achievements. I think the idea behind this company is so awesome and I am proud that I get to be a small part of getting this company off the ground! They currently have a facebook page as well as an etsy store. Family Fun!

I finally got the chance to take some photos of my wonderful older sister and her brood. We have been trying to organize this for, um, EVER so I was so happy that we got a chance to shoot their session! We had a great time wandering around Carriage Hill metro park in Huber Heights and I have to say- I have been to a lot of parks in the last few months and this one is absolutely gorgeous. Here are a couple of my favorites from that beautiful autumn evening.

Baby Time!

I have finished editing the photos from my recent maternity session with Taylor and Drew and I must say that I am quite happy with the way that they turned out. I had never done a maternity session before so I was a little nervous but I had so much fun! I hope that I get a chance to do another maternity session soon because while I was busy editing these photos I came up with a whole new set of ideas for the next session that I get to do :)

Sneak Peek of Taylor and Drew's Maternity Session

This last weekend I had the chance to take some maternity photos for a wonderful couple. We met at Sharon Woods on Sunday morning and had so much fun! It was a gorgeous cool morning and I could not have asked for better weather. I'm busy editing their photos for them today but wanted to post one of my favorites, so far. Here it is!

Britney is 4!

I took these photos of little Britney a few weeks ago and it was so much fun! She is such a doll and one of the most well-behaved children that I've ever had the pleasure of working with :)  Her mom brought the bouquet from her wedding and we took some photos of her holding it- so gorgeous! More of the Holycross Family!

I have finished editing the photos from my session last week with Mari, Kenny, Mykel and Britney. I had such a good time taking their pictures and I hope I get to do them again some time in the near future! During this same session I took pictures of Britney for her 4th birthday- I will post those as soon as I am finished editing them, but for now here are my favorites of the whole family.

I have to say, the picture below may be my favorite of all. We recreated one of Mari and Kenny's favorite photos from their wedding and I LOVE the way it turned out!

Holycross Family Preview

I am so happy to be able to share a few of the photos that I am working on from my most recent family session. I have been friends with this family for nearly my entire life and I am so honored that they let me take their photos! We decided to do their session at the park where they got married a little over five years ago. We recreated some of their favorite wedding photos and had a great time! I am still working hard to get the rest of their photos edited so here's a little teaser-

Jeffers Family

I got to spend yesterday morning with a great family- the Jeffers! We met at a beautiful park in Yellow Springs. I am happy to say that although I had never been to this particular park before, I did not get lost and we ended up getting some great images! They were so much fun to work with and I hope they love their family pictures! I am in the middle of editing their photos for them but I thought I would go ahead and share a little of what I'm working on.

Happily Ever After

Just thought I would share one more photo that I have from Janice and Vince's beautiful July wedding. I love to come up with and make my own props for photos. In addition to signs I love to use banners, frames, or personal momentos that belong to the family that I am working with. I was quite happy with how this photo turned out :)

I have finally finished editing the photos from Janice and Vince's July 2nd wedding. I am so happy with how they turned out and I am looking forward to hearing the reactions from the bride and groom! I will just post a few of my favorites today, but stay tuned for more in the coming weeks.

Little cutie :)

I wanted to share a couple of photos that I recently took of my 1 month old niece Zadie Madison. She is so cute and I had a really fun time posing her and trying to capture some cute memories. I also got to take some adorable pictures of her with her brother and sister so I will share those soon. Enjoy!

Before the "I Do's"

I feel very fortunate that Janice and Vince asked me to be a part of their special day! It was a gorgeous July evening and I could not have asked for better people to work for. I loved the pink accents that highlighted her beautiful pink wedding gown. This bride was especially creative and everything from the dresses to the bouquets to the garters had her special touch.
